The unemployment rate is at an all time high in 2010 at 10% to be exact, and although the federal government says that we are pulling out of the recession that has not yet made itself evident in the unemployment rates. Census bureau jobs are simple ones. For the most part, they entail knocking on the doors of households in a given area and asking them a number of questions. While many people hesitate to knock on the doors of people in their neighborhoods it is important to understand most people expect the census takers to appear on their doorsteps. Many would prefer to speak with a census taker than to have to fill out the questionnaire that asks them all of the same information the census taker would ask.
In order to qualify for the position, a person must pass a census exam and have a valid driver’s license. In addition, applicants must be able to get around as very few areas will allow for the use of public transportation when taking the census.
